Public posts are open to everyone β Just visit any blog URL (like tales.tiggi.es/username) or browse the Reader, and start reading. No signup walls, no paywalls, no tracking.
Password-protected and private blogs β Some writers may choose to password-protect their blogs or make them completely private. In those cases, you'll need the password or permission from the writer/creator to access their content.
Creating an account is only for writers/creators β You only need an account if you want to publish your own stories. If you're just here to read and enjoy the community's writing, you're good to go.

Direct URLs β If you know someone's username, you can visit their blog at tales.tiggi.es/username
Via the fediverse β Since tales.tiggi.es federates with Mastodon and other ActivityPub platforms, you can follow writers using @username@tales.tiggi.es from your Mastodon account. Their posts will appear in your home timeline just like any other account you follow!
Hashtags β Writers can use hashtags in their posts. Click on any hashtag to see other posts using the same tag.
Yes for iOS, but Android users will need to use the web browser:
iOS & macOS β WriteFreely for iOS/Mac is the official app for Apple devices (iOS 14+ and macOS 11+). It features a clean, distraction-free interface, offline drafting with automatic sync, and support for multiple WriteFreely instances. Available for $14.99 as a one-time purchase. Yes, it costs monies, sadly.
Android β There is currently no official WriteFreely app for Android. However, the web interface at tales.tiggi.es works great on Android devices! Add tales.tiggi.es to your home screen for an app-like experience.
Web Browser β You can access tales.tiggi.es from any web browser on any device. The web interface is fully responsive and works well on both desktop and mobile.

The fediverse stuff is optional β Think of federation like email: it's a bonus feature that helps your writing reach more people, but you can completely ignore it if you prefer. Your stories live on the regular web and work great without any federation features.
tales.tiggi.es is for writers first β Whether you share on Bluesky, tweet links, post in Discord servers, or just want a simple blog on the web, you're welcome here. Write your way, share however you'd prefer.
Each user can create up to 10 separate blogs. This lets you organize different types of writing, use different pen names, or separate various projects without needing multiple accounts.
You own your content completely. You can export all your posts at any time and take them with you. We'll never claim ownership or licensing rights to your creative work.
